Ellen M. Hart, MSW, JD

Ellen Hart has spent nearly thirty years serving the legal needs of Social Security Disability and SSI claimants. Ms.Hart works with claimants to establish and maintain eligibility for Social Security benefits and to ensure that they receive the amount of benefits to which they are entitled. Ms. Hart is a graduate of Michigan State University and the Thomas M.Cooley School of Law. She also holds a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan, is a member of the

American Bar Association and a 20-year member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives.

Ms. Hart began her service to Social Security claimants while working as a legislative aide in the United States Senate, helping individuals resolve problems with the Social Security Administration. After working in Washington, D.C., Ms. Hart worked as an SSI client advocate

for the Michigan Department of Social Services, where she represented Michigan’s welfare recipients at Social Security Disability and SSI hearings. Following ten years with the State of Michigan, Ms. Hart entered private practice where she handles only Social Security Disability and Medicaid cases.

 Marsha E. Wood, JD

Marsha E. Wood is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she received a degree in Latin, and the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude

Prior to entering the practice of law, Ms. Wood spent twenty years working with the Michigan Department of Social Services, where she wrote welfare policy

and helped disabled and disadvantaged people obtain medical and financial assistance from the State of Michigan.
